Background
I worked in New York for 20 years in the Senior care industry having first started with exercise therapy and rehabilitation for seniors. During this time I built up a thriving practice. When I returned to South Africa in 2011, I realized there was a great need for individualized care. I wanted to apply everything I had learned overseas and I started an agency committed to caring – not with the ‘one size fits all’ policy but with a personal touch and the ability to determine needs even when clients are care resistant, uncomfortable or even embarrassed or proud.
Many of my clients came from children who had moved overseas and were struggling with being so far away from parents that needed help. The type of care a child would give to a parent is the kind of care I built my business on. It’s extremely gratifying to give the grown-up children peace of mind when they are miles away from their parents. Care comes in many forms and we often find it takes time to determine the real and important needs from our clients. I find great joy in being able to offer a much-needed service and it’s very gratifying to get such wonderful feedback from the families concerned.
My absolute passion is helping people be the best version of themselves they can be, no matter what the circumstance or challenge faced. Even if you have mobility issues you can still find joy, comfort and meaning in your life. Many years of experience have given me the ability to determine caring needs, to assess best solutions and to administer help whichever way it is required.
