I used the services of Carers for You to look after my mother, for a period of 8 years – at first on an ad hoc informal basis following a back procedure my mother had; and from 2020, on a 24hour full time basis. The carers established an excellent rapport with many different constituents including my mother, her friends, her doctors, and other medical staff. Specifically, the last four years, my mothers’ carers (of which there were two on a rotation basis) were genuinely interested in helping her and providing excellent care in a consistently positive and skillful manner. Their capacity to think quickly on their feet, assist patiently when needed, and the ability to always make my mother comfortable and safe was exceptional.
They assisted with all aspects of my mother’s day-to-day activities such as maintaining hygiene, administering medication, taking her out, helping with shopping and cooking, staying with her in hospital if the need arose, organizing tea parties for her and her friends and providing her with friendship, kindness, entertainment, and companionship.
They were organized, thoughtful, compassionate, and showed a genuine love towards my mother, whilst always being sensitive to the needs of both her and our family.
Being a carer to the elderly is challenging, but they were mindful, open and generous – and went far beyond what was expected.
A special mention must be given to Taryn, without whom my mother’s life would definitely not have been as fulfilled as it was. I cannot thank her enough for everything she did, a lot of which was for no remuneration.
I would highly recommend them.

Our hearts are filled with profound gratitude and admiration for the remarkable care and support you provided to our precious husband & father during his critical illness this month. Your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his well-being have left an indelible mark on us all.
And in the midst of the most challenging, uncertain time, you all stood as beacons of hope and strength for our family with my initial call made at 2pm on Thursday 22nd Feb and by 5pm that same day, Khozi was on the 10th Floor, standing by.
Your professionalism, coupled with genuine empathy, created an atmosphere of comfort and reassurance, which alleviated some of the anxiety we were experiencing.
Added to this, your tireless efforts and selfless devotion to Dan was truly remarkable & simply put, completely mind-blowing.
Throughout Dan’s stay in ICU, you demonstrated unparalleled care and vigilance, ensuring that he received the highest standard of attention and medical support. Your meticulous attention to detail and your ability to anticipate his needs were beyond exceptional.
It was clearly evident how you all approached the 24 hour duties, not merely as a job but as a calling – a calling to make a positive difference in the lives of those entrusted to your care.
I want to extend our deepest appreciation to Khozi and Thembi for their exceptional dedication and compassion throughout this traumatic ordeal.
Their kindness and warmth provided solace during moments of distress, and their expertise and professionalism instilled confidence in us during a time of great uncertainty. “My 92 year old mother, Edna Bradlow, has been looked after by your carers, Precious and Dorothy, since July 2015.
Both these young women care for my senile, helpless mother professionally and lovingly. She is always clean, and attractively dressed, and her skin and fingernails are in good condition, while she has never had pressure sores despite being very thin.
Precious and Dorothy are reliable and help each other out when personal problems prevent them from being on duty. They take their responsibilities to my Mom seriously.
The presence of Jenny and her colleagues in the background, is immensely important to my two brothers and me, as we all live overseas.
Jenny’s pragmatism and flexibility give me the reassurance which I need being so far away from my Mother.

“My experience with Jenny and her Carers has been excellent. My mother was cared for by Jenny and her Carers prior to her passing away in 2015. My father of 94 is currently being cared for by two wonderful, caring ladies, under Jenny’s guidance. I think of them all as Angels who have come down to make their last days pleasant and as bearable as possible.
These amazing women are both patient and kind, while being very efficient. They have overlooked my father’s odd and sometimes mean behaviour and won him over. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They are very compassionate. This quality care is responsible for giving my father a new lease on life and extending his life.
As for Jenny, I don’t know what we would have done without her. We do not live in Cape Town and Jenny has made sure that everything has run like clockwork. She has organized everything for us, including grocery shopping and admin to keep the house going. Apart from that, Jenny was always available to consult with us, meet with doctors and nurses at the hospital, and advise and bolster our feelings. She has a wealth of experience and a heart of gold. We are eternally grateful to her for her help. Thank you Jenny.”
